St. Vincent & The Grenadines is uniquely suited for Caribbean sailing adventures. Each of our islands offers something special. From the wealth of marine services & provisioning at Bequia to the pure tranquility of an uninhabited cay, this is where your sailing adventure should begin.

Here are some Sailing Fast Facts for each of our islands.

St. Vincent

St. Vincent has several excellent natural anchorages as well as marinas offering yacht services and provisioning.

  • Along the south coast, Blue Lagoon and Young Island Cut present mariners with some of our the most popular anchorages and managed moorings.
  • Natural anchorages along the leeward coast include Chateaubelair Bay, Cumberland Bay, Troumaka Bay, Wallilabou Bay, Mt Wynne Bay, Buccament Bay and Petit Byahaut.
  • Kingstown, Wallilabou and Chateubelair are ports of entry and provide customs clearance.

BequiaPort Elizabeth, Bequia

  • Admiralty Bay on Bequia’s leeward coast offers a sheltered and popular anchorage for visiting sailboats and motor yachts.
  • Friendship Bay is also an anchorage.
  • Port Elizabeth is a port of entry and provides customs clearance. It is also a great place for provisioning and marine repairs and services.

Mustique

  • The only anchorage in Mustique is Britannia Bay, which is also where the public jetty and wharf are located.
  • There is a Mooring Fee EC$200 (US $75) for up to three nights. There is no charge for yacht charterers to go ashore.

Canouan

  • Charlestown Bay (also known as Grand Bay), Rameau Bay, South Glossy Bay and Friendship Bay offer anchorages for visiting sailboats and motor yachts.
  • Charlestown is a port of entry and provides customs clearance.

Mayreau

  • Saltwhistle Bay is Mayreau’s most popular anchorage though some private boats also anchor in Saline Bay. Both are protected and on the leeward side of the island.
  • Union Island is the nearest port of entry.

Tobago Cays

If you have your own boat or you are sailing a charter vessel then you must be sure to use yacht moorings or anchor in the designated zone within the protected area of the marine park. Park wardens are on hand to advise and collect fees.

  • Yacht anchorage zones are located within the lagoon and along the north west shore of Petit Tabac.
  • Union Island is a port of entry and provides customs clearance.

  • The southern end of Palm Island’s leeward coast offers a sheltered anchorage for visiting sailboats and motor yachts.
  • Union Island is a port of entry and provides customs clearance.

Petit St. Vincent


Union Island

  • Clifton Harbour is our most popular mooring as it is within close proximity to the Anchorage Yacht Club, numerous restaurants and bars, provisioning services, hotels and guest houses, and tourist information services.
  • Ashton Harbour and Chatham Bay are less crowded and far more secluded anchorages.
  • Frigate Island is also an anchorage.
  • Union Island is a port of entry and provides customs cl earance.
